ST. PAUL, Minn. — Three people were killed Monday afternoon in a shooting inside the leasing office of the Davern Park Apartments in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood, according to the St. Paul Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of St. Paul Avenue at approximately 4:10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found three adults dead inside the leasing office. Police evacuated residents from the apartment complex and secured the scene as investigators began processing evidence.
Late Monday evening, authorities announced that a person of interest had been taken into custody. On Tuesday, police confirmed that a 30-year-old suspect was arrested in Virginia, Minnesota, nearly 200 miles north of St. Paul, and transported back to the city on suspicion of murder.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner identified the victims as 25-year-old Nansi Fuentes Zambrano of Inver Grove Heights, 56-year-old Dena Silcox of St. Paul, and 43-year-old Adam Wilwerding of Oakdale. Neighbors said all three worked in the apartment complex’s leasing office.
