BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — A 25-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors say he committed two separate sexual assaults in Brooklyn Park over the span of one week.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged Darius Olson-Baker with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct and burglary.
Olson-Baker was arrested Wednesday evening after members of the Brooklyn Park Police Department SWAT Team and detectives executed a search warrant on the 7600 block of Hampshire Avenue North.
According to investigators, the first incident occurred last week when a man allegedly broke into a home on Hampshire Avenue North before dawn. The victim reported waking to find an armed intruder standing in her bedroom. Police say the suspect tied the woman’s hands and covered her mouth, demanded money, and then sexually assaulted her.
A second incident was reported early Wednesday morning on the 7500 block of Jersey Avenue North. Police say a man entered a residence through an unlocked door and allegedly sexually assaulted another woman.
Authorities said Olson-Baker had been released from prison only days before the alleged assaults occurred.
He remains in custody as the case moves through the court system.
