MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are searching for a suspect after officers were reportedly fired upon Monday during an investigation near North 35th Avenue and Penn Avenue North.
According to Minneapolis police, officers were investigating a vehicle when a passenger allegedly opened fire before fleeing the area. A shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents as authorities searched for the suspect.
Police later lifted the shelter-in-place order, though the suspect remains at large and is considered potentially armed.
No officers were injured during the incident, and Minneapolis police stated that officers did not discharge their weapons.
The suspect is described as a Black male in his late teens with a medium-to-large build and thick dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a pink sweatshirt.
The investigation remains ongoing.
