OAKDALE, Minn. — An Oakdale couple has been charged with multiple sex-related offenses after a missing 14-year-old girl was discovered alive inside a cardboard box during a police search of their home, according to court documents filed in Washington County.
Authorities identified the suspects as 46-year-old Angeline Olson and 48-year-old Andrew Olson. Both are charged with soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct. In addition, Angeline Olson faces one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, while Andrew Olson faces three counts related to the possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to the criminal complaint, Maplewood police began investigating on May 26 after the girl was reported missing from school. The girl’s father told officers she may have been at the Oakdale home of a friend whose parents were the Olsons.
When officers initially arrived at the residence, Angeline Olson allegedly told investigators the girl was not there. Further investigation later led authorities to search the home, where the missing teenager was ultimately found alive inside a cardboard box.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the girl’s disappearance and her time at the residence. The Olsons remain charged as the case moves through the court system.
