PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Among the many attractions at the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Open House, one program generated significant interest among young attendees: the Sheriff’s Explorers program. The Explorers program is designed to provide youth with hands-on exposure to public safety careers while teaching leadership, teamwork, communication, and responsibility. Participants have opportunities to learn directly from law enforcement professionals and gain insight into the daily operations of public safety agencies. During the Open House, deputies and program representatives spoke with attendees about the benefits of joining Explorers and the experiences available through the program.
