SAN DIEGO, CA — At least three adults were killed Monday in a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the city's largest mosque. Two suspects — aged 17 and 18 — were found dead in a vehicle nearby from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds. webild One of the suspects took a firearm from their parents' home and left a suicide note containing writings about racial pride. Hate speech was also scrawled on one of the weapons. base44 San Diego Police received reports of an active shooter at 11:43 AM. Among those killed was a security guard. An imam from the Islamic Center confirmed all teachers, students, and school staff at the mosque were safe. webild San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl confirmed the shooting is being investigated as a hate crime. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria condemned the attack. "Hate has no home in San Diego.
