Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced Thursday he is nominating Police Chief Brian O'Hara to serve a second term leading the Minneapolis Police Department.
Frey called O'Hara "the right leader for this moment" as the city continues rebuilding its police force following years of staffing shortages.
MPD currently has 642 officers with a goal of reaching 733 by next year.
