Secretary Rubio Takes White House Podium — Iran Tensions Dominate Briefing

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in as White House press briefing host today, filling in for Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt who is on maternity leave.

Rubio focused heavily on the ongoing conflict with Iran, stating that Iranian leaders are running a "vicious regime" and called their actions in the Strait of Hormuz "crazy." Iran has shut down the strait, blocking international shipping unless vessels pay a toll to Tehran.

President Trump launched Operation Project Freedom — a mission to escort ships safely through the Strait of Hormuz.

Rubio also confirmed that Operation Epic Fury has concluded, stating the administration is not seeking additional military strikes on Iran at this time.
