MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis-based candy company is working to bring more halal options to the gummy market while connecting its business to a larger charitable mission.
Halwa Gummies was founded in 2026 by Mohamed Abukar. In information provided directly to NCN Media, Abukar described Halwa Gummies as a halal gummy candy brand with products made to meet halal dietary requirements.
According to Abukar, the company donates 25% of its profits to orphan projects in Kenya, making charitable giving part of the company’s mission as it grows.
The company currently offers 4-ounce gummy pouches priced at $2.99 each. The gummies are also sold through the company’s online store in packs of five, 10 and 15.
Halwa Gummies has also begun working with NCN Media as the company looks to increase awareness of its products and story. The company recently shipped sample packages to NCN Media for the team to review as part of the project.
NCN plans to produce additional coverage highlighting the company, its products and the story behind the business. Photos and video provided by Halwa Gummies are also expected to be incorporated into upcoming coverage with permission from the company.
For Abukar, the growing company combines entrepreneurship, halal products and charitable giving while operating from Minneapolis.
NCN Media will continue its coverage of Halwa Gummies as additional information, interviews and product materials become available.
