NCN Is Hiring a Chief Correspondent

The National Correspondent Network (NCN Media) is hiring a Chief Correspondent — the network’s senior field correspondent and one of the most important roles at NCN. This position is open now and will be filled as soon as the right person is found.

The Role

The Chief Correspondent is NCN’s lead correspondent in the field. You will lead coverage on major stories, represent NCN to the public and to other media, and help run daily coverage alongside the Editor-in-Chief.

What You’ll Do

  • Cover breaking news and major stories as NCN’s lead on-scene correspondent, shooting photo and video
  • Respond to media emails and press inquiries, and deliver media briefings
  • Produce NCN coverage across the website and social platforms
  • Help coordinate correspondents and coverage on major news days, including elections and major incidents
  • Uphold NCN’s editorial standard on every story: verify first, attribute clearly, and never speculate

Who We’re Looking For

  • Real field experience shooting photo and/or video
  • Fast and reliable — when news breaks, you answer, including nights and weekends
  • Strong on camera and strong in writing
  • Based in the Twin Cities area preferred, or able to deploy when a major story breaks
  • Professional conduct with agencies, media partners, and the public at all times

How to Apply
