ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — Kohl's will close its longtime store at the Shoppes at Knollwood in St. Louis Park on October 31, according to The Development Tracker, which reported the confirmed closing date.

The nearly 80,000-square-foot anchor space has already been accounted for: Burlington will take the largest portion at about 28,000 square feet, Urban Air Adventure Park will occupy about 24,000 square feet at the opposite end, and Total Wine & More will take the remaining roughly 26,000 square feet, according to the report. The new stores are expected to open in 2027.

The closure comes as Kohl's nationwide said it does not expect broad store closures in 2026 after shutting 27 underperforming stores in 2025, according to the company's earnings reports. CEO Michael Bender said in March that the company's focus was on optimizing its roughly 1,150 existing stores rather than closing more.

The Twin Cities Business Journal previously reported that the Knollwood closure came as the shopping center off Highway 7 was listed for sale, with the rest of the center's businesses expected to remain open.
