The family of Renee Good is not providing further comment on the two federal lawsuits filed Thursday over her fatal shooting, but the family's legal team is open to helping with news coverage, the firm's Chief Communications Officer told NCN.
"Happy to hear how we might be helpful in your coverage. Family is not providing any further comment, but we are open to seeing how legal team might be able to help," Jennifer McGuffin, Chief Communications Officer at Romanucci & Blandin, said in an email to NCN on Thursday afternoon.
McGuffin reached out after the firm shared copies of both filed complaints with NCN earlier in the day. The lawsuits — Case No. 0:26-cv-04230, a wrongful-death suit against the United States, and Case No. 0:26-cv-04231, a civil-rights suit against ICE agent Jonathan Ross and other federal officials — were filed October 1, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
The suits concern the January 7, 2026 fatal shooting of Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, by Ross in Minneapolis. The plaintiffs are Brent Ganger, acting as trustee for Good's next of kin, and Rebecca Good, Good's partner.
This is a developing story. NCN's earlier coverage of the lawsuits is here: https://ncnmedia.org/articles/6abe782a9c932ffb9e4c6824
